$35/day or $80/all three days (Optional: bring light snack for your child)

While parents attend Homeschooling For Excellence 101, their children can attend a variety of workshops given by speakers who will challenge them to become active and excited learners. Our goal is to remind children that learning is rewarding and interesting and that learning can happen anywhere, at anytime.

Thursday - 8:50 AM to 3:00 PM

8:50 AM - 10:00 AM Explore Architecture and Engineering while creating cities After receiving training from master Lego Builders, Matt and James, student build teamwork skills and learn about systems and how they applies to cities development. Students also receive instruction on developing and perfecting their building skills.
10:00 AM - 10:45 AM Explore Architecture and Engineering Continued
10:45 AM - 11:00 AM Break Time - Bathroom and Clean Up
11:00 AM - 11:45 AM Big Screen Learning - Complete a Facts Treasure Hunt and Create an art project after viewing the film "Most Amazing Moments" by National Geographic
11:45 PM - 1:00 PM Lunch - Children should be picked up for lunch.
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Get Up and Move! - After perfecting the beat with Lummi Sticks, everyone dissolves in fits of laughter as they learn easy square dance moves. A mini hoe down follows. "Everyone Alamande Left!"
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM Special Guest Entertainer - Mr. Science Teacher

Friday - 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM Developing the City - Master Lego Builders, Matt and James guide students to learn concentration, focus and attention to detail, as they review and improve on building projects. Satisfaction builds as cities are improved and perfected.
10:00 AM - 10:45 AM Diorama's the Dinah Zike Way. After listening to the Story of Ping, kids use Dinah Zike's fabulous diorama invention to create an amazing table of the story. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFIGlz4TGLA
10:45 AM - 11:00 AM Break Time - Bathroom and Clean Up
11:00 AM - 11:25AM Fun With Paper - Paper Airplanes, Paper Hats, Cootie Catchers, Artistic Envelopes and more!. Get rid of the "I'm bored and have nothing to do." Talents your kids will be sure to use again and again to amuse themselves and amaze their friends.
11:30 AM - 12:30 PM Lunch - Children should be picked up for lunch.
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Coach Mike - Good Ball Handling Skills Improve Learning Skills Carefully designed activites create success as students learn to attend to lots of simultaneous information while playing. Working alone and together, kids succeed as they learn a variety of fun and useful ball handling maneuvers.
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM Special Guest Entertainer - McWane Science CenterThe Super Science Show! - Step right up for our science circus assembly show! Explore the wonders of liquid nitrogen, the power of explosions and the shocking world of electricity.”
