George Martin is an Educator, Poet, Musician, Writer, Actor, Magician, Entertainer, and former acrobat with the Florida State University Circus! George packages music with magic and presents it to students as a learning tool in a wonderful science show! He incorporates magic tricks with poetry and harmonica music to teach science, reading, poetry, history and more! George believes the enjoyment of education is the foundation of success. Lani has a real passion for helping homeschoolers reach their full potential in becoming all that God called them to be, and believes in her heart that every single student CAN succeed! She homeschooled her four children for 20 years and teaches at two homeschool tutorials as well as working as a High School Guidance Counselor with HomeLife Academy. She has conducted numerous workshops with a variety of organizations. She does lots of counseling with new homeschool moms, and her reward is hearing them say, “That’s exactly what I needed to hear today!”
Aimee Smith and her husband Aron are second generation homeschoolers. As mom to four children ages 10, 8, 6, and 4, she understands that abundant, daily grace and strength from our Father is necessary for parents to press on in our home education journeys. As Classical Conversations Area Manager for Central/Southern Alabama, she realizes the opportunity we have to inspire and encourage one another as we continue this journey in community with one another. Aimee is passionate about utilizing academics as a tool for discipleship and seeing our culture transformed through families committed to Jesus.
Jackie Rosch, ND is a homeschooling mother of four chronically ill children, a certified Life Coach, and a National Tourette Syndrome Association Ambassador. She has been married to her best friend, Robert, for 28 years.
Katherine Rosch is a TSA (National Tourette Syndrome Association) Youth Ambassador. She completed training in Washington DC and visited Capital Hill to advocate for those affected by TS. Katherine goes into classrooms, schools and clubs to teach understanding, sensitivity and tolerance of TS and its symptoms.
Steve was born Oct. 21st 1960 in Royal Oak, Michigan. His parents worked for the Michigan Central Railroad and lived in a modest home in Livonia, Mich. In 1972, Steve and his mother moved to Chadds-Ford, PA and Steve graduated from Unionville High School in 1978. He earned a B.S. in Economics from West Chester University in 1982. Upon graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy and was commissioned and trained as a pilot in 1983-84. He married his college sweetheart Megan, in July of 1984 and they began a life together that to date, has included eight children and 15 moves. Steve was deployed three times in four years flying the P3 Orion. Steve left active duty in 1991 and was hired by American Airlines the same year. He currently flies the Boeing 757 and 767 out of Boston’s Logan Airport normally flying routes that take him to the west coast. His total flight time is well over 12,000 hours.
During the late 90’s, Steve started his graduate education at Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary in Lansdale PA. He was awarded a Master of Arts in Theological Studies in 2006 and a Master of Arts in Christian Ministries in 2007. Steve earned his Doctor of Ministry degree in May 2011 from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. His dissertation topic was the role of parents in the character development of children.
In July of 2000, Steve, Megan, and the family, moved to Georgetown, Maine where Steve founded Cornerstone Baptist Church. The church has grown over the years and current attendance tops 225 per Sunday service. Steve has remained active in the Navy Reserve. In 2001, Steve was asked to design and teach a course in Navy Core Values. The course has found broad acceptance and Steve is a highly sought after trainer and motivational speaker. More than 10,000 service members have attended his Core Values seminars, since it’s inception in early 2002.
Steve and Megan are instrumental in the lives of young parents. They have developed a parenting course entitled Parenting Matters; The Nine Practices of The Proactive Parent. They travel extensively, teaching weekend parenting seminars. Steve recently adapted and taught his Navy Core Values training to the entire student body and faculty of Clearwater Christian College in Clearwater, FL. He is also the author of several books and studies.
Steve and Megan enjoy opening their home to young people and you will usually find a crowd at the Scheibner’s house. In his spare time, he sleeps, watches the Red Sox, and drives his children to sports practice, all while attending weekly meetings of Overachiever’s Anonymous.
Steve is currently a First Officer for American Airlines and a retired Commander from the United States Navy. He recently retired as Senior Pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church of Topsham, ME. to become the President of Characterhealth Corporation; a non-profit conference ministry aimed at equipping parents to train the next generation of character-healthy leaders.
